53 Superwasp Rocker Panels

getting ready to paint my 53 superwasp and cant recall if the rocker panels were painted the same color as remainder of car(black) something tells me they were silver or gray any suggestions would be welcome as i am trying to keep this vechile as orginal as possible. this car has been under restoration for 5 years now. can any one help?
