OMG! this really upsets me. I hope everyone is okay. That is devastating. I feel bad for you Lew, hope someone can help put the convertible back together. I was telling hudsondad, it was my one of my favorite cars we came across this year at all of the car shows.
Best!

One of the real kickers it that one of the NOS headlamp rings I put on the car (after I had it re plated) is now JUNK!, The fender is beyond repair, grill needs a bunch of parts, the hood will need a bit of work, also one of the NOS hubcaps is now shot. Bumper is in need of some work. It really isn't too bad, but it will take a bit to get it back together. And you should see the Tarus....it ain't pretty!0

Sorry to hear about the accident... or run in as it may be. Check the normal case of characters... remember that Gene and Myrna in Idaho have lots of sheet metal! Possible that the Falks may have good used if the NOS does not show... there was a fella in Houston a few years back who was selling NOS sheet metal... do not have contact information at this time. NOS bright work maybe easier? to find... due to the interchangeability....
In all cases, GOOD THAT you are well LEW... even with the superior metal... we are all taking a risk when we point the nose of the car into traffic.
Cheers from HOT0 -
Lew,
Sorry about the car. Good thing noboby was injured. But, that's the price you pay for being a chick (car) magnet.0 -
What a BUMMER! Hard to find any silver linings, except: 1) you apparently weren't hurt and 2) it's the end of the season and at least you had a brief moment of glory this summer (though if you were planning to show it at Hershey that's a REAL bummer!).0

I have a NOS right front fender and a NOS hood for the car. i also have the lower front right fender filler. these were to make a complete front end for a future vert project. i was still missing the left fender but had everything else. would consider selling these i guess,to help you and the vert out.0 -
Here in Memphis most drivers seem to be, I think, color blind. If you look at the stats here, intersection collisions seem to be the rule, rather than the exception.
What you do is, if on a 4 lane street, let the car beside you start out - let him get hit. Or if 2-lane street or no car beside you, count to 10 before you start across.
I had one about a week ago - young lady came out of a 2-lane side street, crossing from left to right, stopped in the middle of the 4-lane street I was on, so I started to go around her - and she starts moving across my lanes!!!! Fortunately she decided descretion was the better part of valour, and stopped as I went around her.
I'm gonna go back to 1960's pickup trucks, I think.
Hudsonly,
Alex Burr

First of all, I am glad that you are OK. Cars can be repaired (given enough money) from almost any condition. People unfortunately sometimes cannot. Good friends cannot just be replaced, so again, I am glad You are OK.
Contact Hudzilla, I know he has some sheetmetal.

Amongst quite a few other Hudson parts that I'll be listing on ebay next week are four pieces (NOS) for a '51-'52 grille. I'll give you a heads up.0

Well, A bit of an update. Things ain't as good as they first appeared. I have a mild case of spina bifida. As a result, I have a week back. On Tuesday I developed a pain in my back, then my left leg went numb...no fun. I'm not one to make a fuss over this as I was born with the problem, but it has slowed me down. I haven't been able to work a full day since Monday. I haven't done much other than work and take pills...such fun Weeeeeeee! Anyway. I think I'm down for a while. NOt complaining as I have gotten used to dealing with this. Should be good as new in a few days...taking it a bit easy.0

Nope HK. I have to go into the office on Sunday. This will be the first time I have missed it in 30+ years. I've been going to the Post Hershey get together since before it was relocated to Carlisle....0
