Hudson Events at Hershey This Year

Going to the big AACA car show / swap meet in Hershey, Pa. on Oct. 10-13, this year? Here is some Hudson stuff you should know about:

The H-E-T Club’s hospitality trailer is at the Red Field (in front of the old stadium) at space #RNE 24-25. Doughnuts and coffee, comfy chairs and a bulletin board for messages. Plus, you can temporarily 'park' those heavy items you're lugging around the field.

Many Hudsonites stay at the Quality Inn outside nearby Carlisle (1255 Carlisle Pike, intersection of I-81 and Rte. 11). Hudsonites who phone the motel at (717) 243-6000 and ask for the “Hudson car club” rate, can benefit from a room-rate discount – if any rooms are left.

H-E-T volunteers will maintain a hospitality room just off the Quality Inn's front lobby on Friday after 4:00 P.M., and on Saturday afternoon and evening.

Saturday evening Hudson dinner, 6 PM at the Sunnyside Restaurant. Room is set aside for us. No reservations are required and each person orders ‘off the menu’. The address is 850 N. Hanover Street – three miles west of the Quality Inn, on Route 11.

All-Hudson flea market Sunday, Oct. 14 [thanks, Broyer!] in the Quality Inn's rear parking lot from 7:00 A.M. to noon.

Can you help out at the Hudson booth at Hershey? Would you like to display your Hudson there? Read more, here: http://www.classiccar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10860&highlight=Hershey

  • Jon,

On your post you have the All - Hudson flea market for Sunday, Oct. 8 at the Quality Inn at 7 a.m. till noon in Carlisle, Pa. I believe you wanted that date to be Sunday, Oct. 14th.

I'm shamelessly bumping this up to the top of the list! To those who've volunteered, thank you -- I'll be in touch shortly.

To those who haven't volunteered, please consider doing so. We need people to tend the booth, especially early in the week (Wed. and Thurs.). This is a great way to meet fellow Hudson people from around the world. It's also great for older Hudson enthusiasts who have enjoyed Hershey over the years but who are not "up" to all that walking, anymore. This is a chance to be right in the middle of things and not have to move an inch (we can arrange for transportation from the "Hudson" motel -- the Carlisle Quality Inn -- right to the booth, and back home at the end of the day. Who could ask for anything more!!

Please contact me at HETdetailed@verizon.net (drop the HET first) if you're interested. Oh yeah -- and we're always interested in showing off new & different Hudsons next to the booth; you can get a free pass and park your car in 'prime territory'. Save money AND avoid walking miles to your car. Again, we need cars to display early in the week (Wed. and Thurs.) and would prefer to show off something that hasn't been displayed at the booth before.

Here's another bump. Through no fault of Jon's some of the critical info is missing from the Hershey ad on page 19 of the September/October issue of WTN. If you know a hudnut or potential Hudnut who's going to Hershey, please pass on the info in this posting. Thanks! :o

Here's another shameless 'bump'! The show starts next Wednesday. The assistance of any public-spirited Hudsonites in tending the booth over the 4 days, is earnestly solicited.

A quick "progress report" from Hershey! (Others are running the Hudson booth today, I just drove 3 hours home to catch up on some work, will be back there Saturday morning). Looks like partly sunny skies today with high temp of about 60, and a brisk wind. Tomorrow at Hershey (that's when the car show is), low 60's and sunny. Sunday morning (Hershey event will be finished, but the all-Hudson flea market out at the Quality Inn in Carlisle), mid-sixties, sunny.

It was sunny and warm on Wednesday, partly rainy and cool on Thursday.

We look forward to seeing people today & tomorrow at the Hudson booth in the Red Field at Hershey, and Sunday 7-noon at the Quality Inn in Carlisle!
