1948 commodore pickup truck

We recently purchased an awesome looking 1948 pickup truck and are trying to get some information on the history. We found it in Conn, it lived in Wyoming for about ten years, Santa Barbara, Cal. before that and ???? Hudson registry can't locate our car and we don't know where to go from there. It is possible it is a factory prototype but we don't know how to check that out. Vin # is 48 269 414. thanks for any help. ron and linda
