Hudson Paint
Is there a resource for obtaining the single stage formula for a particular Hudson color? The local industrial paint supplier can pull the color up on their data base but their is no formula available.
My 54 Hornet is supposed to be Spring Green, color code Q161. A prior owner two-toned it. YUK
Thanks,
Doug

Another thing you can do is take a good flat part you have to a paint store that has a scanner. My 54 Special is some strange color that doesn't show up in anything. 55 Nash Coral red is the closest. Anyway, my paint shop I know well and they came to my house with the scanner and placed it on my firewall and scanned the original color. The car had already been painted a dark red and was not running at the time. The scanner reads the color and punches out a formula in a modern acrylic enamel. They mixed me up a small batch ( pint or so) and I reshot the firewall before I put the motor back in. It looks great. Todays enamels are far superior to the old lacquers to.0
