I don't see the auction. It comes up invalid number.
Is this perhaps an Australian eBay auction, why i cannot see it?
anyway, what was the price?
King pins are hard to find, not impossible....0 -
Sorry the item number should have another 1 (Numeral) on the end of it, sorry about that.
Bid is over $600.000 -
Holy crap, are they really that rare? my frame of reference was stepdown kingpins....
the price seems excessive....0 -
 I have been looking through Hemmings and a few other hobby magazines and am in a state of sticker shock. Some people are really dreamers or am I behind the times? Sure, some cars are definatly worth a premium, but so many others look like they barely escaped the crusher. Some have been "stored" for many years on a farm out in a field where it broke down years ago. Cars were built to be driven, maintained and enjoyed, but when I see not so old or common cars that are priced in five or six digit figurs that still need some tlc I really will treasure what I have. Please answere the question, is it me, greedy people, uninformed buyers, speculators or what? I think there are people out to ruin the hobby. Thanks, Another '41 Hudson.0

When your tryin to live on a $1011 a month SLOW STARVATION check you can't compete with guys that don't have to check the bank acct before they order a new set of king pins, and there has become far too many with the mind set " I WANT IT AND I'M GONNA GET IT " that is what has happened, yeah, greedy, self centered people both selling and buying. There's a big differance in being able to afford something that is expensive and rightly so, I have no problem with that, and what I see happening. If it were not for the rest sorta lookin out for each other we would'nt get ANYTHING for our cars. I'll surely get hacked by somebody but that's how I feel.0

cars are a money pit. no matter what. if you're buying, the seller cleans up. if you're selling, it just so happens to be "a buyers market" no matter what, you'll get screwed. ok maybe not. there ARE still good guys out there and i have dealt with some excellent blokes but others just wanna fill their accounts, especially on ebay0

Looking at the bidding I would suspect that price boosting is occurring.
For $600 you could just about get a competent machine shop to make a king pin set from scratch.0 -
Right on with the EBAY, and another reason HET and this forum is so valuable to us. I think each of us has a responseability to not let it get infilltrated with those who would drag it down in ANY way, keep our standards up in ALL things as the founders intended. We can sort out and pass on sellers ripping us off and those just trying to make an honest liveing. I too have gotten several very good buys from members just trying to help someone else fix up their car,and I thank them for their help.0
