The Souers Family is planning a great Hudsoning event in Ft. Wayne this year as a part of the Northern Indiana Ohio Chapter of the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club. This is one the longest running HET meets in the country as it was started by Meredith and Mary Souers in 1965. Mary and the "children" continue the tradition.
Everyone is invited. Bring your parts to sell as there is a large area available for vendors. Bring your HET car if possible, and we promise there will be a few rare ones there.
There will be past meet memorabilia in the hospitality room to enjoy. If you have attended one of the meets in the past, leave us a note here telling about your experience. We will build an alumni list. For old time sake!
See the web site for additional information on the meet, hotel and local attractions.

Rick, Thank you for your kind words. Now a few comment about the cars in the field. My Grandfather and Father were farmers. They would buy a Hudson in the late 50's and drive it until it needed something and then park it in the field, and buy another one for $50. This is how the first 20 or so arrived. Then in the 60's people would just drop them off, or tell Dad to come pick it up. Add another 60 or so. The 70's added another 20 plus to the mix. We have always sold parts along the way, but at this point the sheet metal is shot, and obviously all the rare stuff is gone. Had Dad not saved this much of it I suppose it would have all gone to the crusher years ago, and there woudn't even be a field to talk about.
Now to keep this focused on the meet, several of the first Souers Hudson Meets were held a the farm, so the cars in the field made for some pretty large gatherings. Is there anyone on the farm that attended some of thsoe early meets? Ed0 -
I think I was at one of the meets - I remember being in the house, and at that time the living room had been converted into the print shop for the WTN. Boy, that was quite a long time ago!

I will have to make it to that.
Where is this field of cars at? Any Jets?0 -
I have to tell this one. I was in Army Recruiting stationed out of FT Wayne, IN. I was traveling from one recruiting station to the next and out of no where spotted the Hudson sign on the barn. I hit the brakes and was compelled to turn around. I went to the door in my uniform and was greeted by one of the Sours brothers. I was invited in and met Mary and was shocked to find out the White Triangle at one time originated from that farmhouse. I was shown the cars in the barn and the field, I was again amazed and left speechless. I left with the Sours meet commerative notepad which I still have. Great memory. I shared this with Ed at Auburn and visited with Mary. Ed did not remember it so it was one of the other Sours brothers. That was about 1992.0
