37 tailgate reflectors needed
Glass reflectors broken/missing but I do have the housings. Has anyone found a source for something that fits or if you know someone who has conquered this problem before let me know. I'm sure no originals remain out there but if they do please let me know.

Don't have the least idea what the houseings look like to work with,But have you considered getting some new plastic reflectors and grinding them down to proper dia to fit the housengs? I did this with some 63 Chev tail light lenses for my 37 "T" 4DR and have much better lights than the old glass lenses. Not original but lots safer, can see the turn signal real good in daytime now. Can always pop the glass ones back in But I don't have a show car anyway, got a SHOW OFF car, I drive it !! Bud0

I thought KGap was repopping these. IIRC, the man I bought my '37 from five years ago said he bought his from them. That's what I'm thinking, anyway.0

just looked at kgap's online index and nothing is there0

Kgap has some lenses, not original that say Terraplane on them for about $75 a crack, but you need REFLECTORS , right ? Are they supposed to be originaL ? Could be but I never saw an old pickup with reflectors. I'm thinking they're likely universal add ons . Bud0

OK GUYS,that's the TAIL LIGHT LENSE lense Kgap has. So is it that or a non-lighted reflector that's needed ? Got a pic of the empty houseings ? I still need one inside sun visor . Bud0

yes, its reflectors needed not a light & I thought about getting oversized plastic but I'm thinking they will melt if I try to gring them down being plastic - perhaps a micro grinder with a diamond tip won't heat up and would work?0

Howdy friend, I just used my regular body grinder on the flat of the disc , held it steady and moved the lense , working it down gradually. It will have a very small amount of melt that stays at the edge and pops off real easy with your thumb, can finiish up with a course file or sander with course grit on it if you get leary about size at the end. It's really quite easy to do . BUD0

Hmmmm.... you are looking for the pickup truck taillights, right?
As to actual REFLECTORS -- that is to say, the reflective surface behind the bulb that projects the light out through the lens -- I wasn't aware that Hudson had them in those days. They just stuck the bulb in there and figured that if you could see it from 20 feet away, it was a success!
I have the passenger car taillights on my '37, which are different from the pickup of course, but I have the reflector from a flashlight in each of my taillights. It has a hole in the middle so the light bulb itself holds the reflector in. And it works very nicely to project the light out through the glass. Maybe you could buy a cheap plastic flashlight of some type (with a reflector the same size as your lens) then salvage the reflector from it. The late Jack Heisler (who had a '37 among other cars) came up with the concept and gave the reflectors to me.0
