Sorry you couldn't make it. "People" turnout was down slightly from last year (when the meet was designated a Regional, after all), "Hudson" turnout down a bit more. This was due, no doubt, to the prediction of rain and the price of gasoline. (The nearby Winchester car show turnout was down this year as well, no doubt for the same reasons.) Though rain had been predicted rather steadily throughout the weekend, in the end we had a "window of dryness" between about 4:00 Friday and maybe 10:30 AM on Sunday. We had a number of new folks attending, plus plenty of the "old timers". And it seemed to me like we had a pretty good number of kids, from babies to teens, which is always heartening.

The main point is that despite weather predictions and gas prices, Front Royal this year was once again one of the Club's premiere events!

I'm sure that folks will begin posting photos here soon.

Thanks John I Appreciate The Update.... I AlwayS Luv Doc's..
  • I was at Doc's meet on Sunday, with Hudsondad. As far as pictures, we unfortunately, did not get many. The weather, was in fact a major problem. Sunday, there may have been 24 cars at most, a lot of convertibles.

I was able to buy well at the flea market, bought a pair of WA-1 rebuild kits from Paul Schuster, the good ones, and I'm thankful he was there, to get those, since I mega need these.

Then I stopped at Frank's table, and Frank handed me a set of lower grille bars for a 50 super/commodore, both NOS, you guys know, the ones I've been looking for (specifically the left one), oh I don't know for about 14 years.... anyway, got those, but the bad thing is, Frank was packing up, so I had to go thru the bins on the fly. I was able to score a few more great items, including another thing Frank had set aside for someone, maybe me, the trunk spear for a 50-51 commodore/hornet, rechromed, and very nice, no problems, with smooth contours, no nicks, or pits on the edges, as these get. It was nicer than mine, so I had to have it. I also ended up with a pair of rear inner bumper guards, NOS, a left front outer, NOS, with a few marks on the bottom, a pair of NOS, but shelf worn tailling bezels, a plastic arm rest base, since I got none, it's a start, and a NOS trunk handle base that is nicer than mine.

All in all, it was a good day to buy for me. I think hUdsondad bought a pair ofrebuild kits from Paul as well, he's down to only a few pieces, so, not much for him, besides, his is a bit harder to find stuff for.

ALso, as another highlight from the day, we got to go for a ride in 7XPacemaker's 51 pacemaker, a car for some reason, I really like, and just think it might be one of my favorite hudsons I get to see here or there... The ride was hindered a bit by the rain, and the car's ease, and ability to produce significant amounts of rear wheel torque, and I got to imagine that it may have been even more of an exicting ride if the roads were not as wet, I bet the car would have still produced as much bark, I got to say overall, I like the car even more now.

I was able to see how an OD with a simple on/off switch works, and might just try this to get mine functioning, seems a lot easier for my troubleshooting right now, and was a major bonus to the ride.

7X, thanks for the ride, and thanks for you and your dad, hanging out and sharing stories with me and hudsondad, made the trip even better!
