According to the 1948-1954 Monthly Model Year Production Chart in my ""General Information Handbook" it would be, assuming it's the original engine, April 1953 (Serial numbers ran 239913-251452 - engine numbers supposed to be same as Serial Number).
There is also a chart showing breakdown by model from 1948-1954; example 1949 Commodore Six - 32,715 Unit production, etc.
Copies of my General Handbook may be obtained as follows:
CD - $15; print copy in a 3-ring binder $25.

Being at the 2008 National assumes I'll have enough gas money to just get there in the first place.
I'll definitely be a no show if gas prices $4 or above a gallon - that equates to $500, round trip, give or take a couple $.
So we shall see what we shall see, come July. Memorial Day weekend, when gas prices usually spike - and set the norm for the summer travel season - ought to be a trip and a half this year.

Alex, Thanks, I knew I could count on you. I really should buy one of those CD's.
That is the engine number for a certain Hudson Jet that spent some time in Italy. The body number plate no longer exists. So I was curious, and you answered for me at least roughly when the chassis was built. Thanks again. Ed0 -

While you're thinking about it the CD is $15, a printed copy in a 3-ring binder is $25.
Email for info.
