I've seen this car before. I am pretty sure it used to belong to Don Whitacre near Ocala Fl. He had it sitting in his yard for years. I'm not sure if he ever had it running, but it is still a pretty cool conversation piece.0

Was the dual throat Twin H available to the public or was it more just for the racers?0
-
I posted the picture to show those who visit this curiosity. I suspect (strongly) the manifold is a racer built varient that was made from a Twin H oem manifold. But without examination, the manifold remains an odd item with an OEM Hudson partnumber imprint.
To my knowledge Hudson did not make this manifold for sale to the public or racers.0 -
I think I recall Tommy Sutton having one of those a few years ago. It was aluminum and was a factory piece. Only one I've ever heard of till this one.0

It appeared to be aluminum to me too. The tube is steel. I never saw or heard of one, but I sure would like to examine one up close. Veeeery intersting...0 -
Its always hard to tell from a photo of course, but if its not a factory manifold, ie its an altered 2 x WA1 manifold, someone has gone to a lot of trouble to make it look factory.
Were there factory aluminium Twin H manifolds?0 -
Were these not a Jack Clifford production? Intentrionally making it look stock to skirt around a NHRA rule using the factory numbers for standard twin h manifolds.0

Looking at the picture, the manifold appears to have RUST in the carburator towers. Aluminum oxide is white... picture appears to show an aluminum painted steel manifold?0

Hi everyone. I bought that old Hudson race car with this manifold. It's a pretty rough old car. I'm not sure if it's worth saving or not. If it has some kind of history, then I think it should be saved but otherwise, it's probably not worth it. We do have it almost running now. Just need a new header. The intake sure looks unmodified to me. I thought most Hudson stock dual carb manifolds were for 1 barrels?
Anybody have any insight into the car itself? I'd sure like to know the history if it has any. I'll gladly tip for pix or information0 -
my money is on that intake being modified- notice how the casting numbers under the rear carb riser end kind of abruptly. ill do some more sleuthing0
