:eek:What can I say, is it life, luck or me? I have been planning on attending The Western Regional in San Jose for some time. I changed insurance companies and it took awhile to get my insurance cards. I could not take my '37 Terraplane in for inspection and to license it without the cards, ran out off time. Decided that we are trailering the '37 anyway so what the heck. I go to start the '37 and it would only run on starter fluid. Has in the past fired right up. Pulled the fuel line and no gas getting to the carburator. I had just replaced the fuel pump with a rebuilt one that had been sitting on a shelf for quite sometime. I guess the crappy gas that we now have ate the diaphram. That was frustrating as I wanted to drive the car on and off the car trailer. I decided to winch the car on the trailer. Then a tireon the trailer went flat. id not want to take any air. So my plans for leaving here early in the morning and head over the hill have been changed. I will have to get another wheel and tire first thing in the morning and will get a later start. But the car is loaded, trailer hooked up, all I need to do is load the truck and we will be on our way to San Jose. But the car will remain on the trailer while there. I will have to have a fuel pomp rebuilt using new materials. Hopefully we will not have any more problems. Looking foreward to a fun weekend, Arnie

I'll see you there, God willing! I'm leaving my store tomorrow evening after work. I'll stop and get a room when I get tired, or when the circuit breaker in the light switch starts giving me problems! I'll probably get to San Jose Friday late morning.
Maybe we'll have a tech session involving the replacement of your fuel pump!!
Safe travels to everyone!0 -

Been there and done that! Back "in the day" when we were racing stock cars, we would have such a day getting to the track, but it usually paid off at the end of the night with a win.. Maybe we are just being challanged? I bet you have a great time at the meet.;)0 -
Also known as Murphy's Law.
I had, back in the day, a 1953 Hornet sedan that more than once, on the day I was going to take it to a meet, would start up just fine - until I got it out of the driveway. Then it would quit. So, I'd go to the meet Brand-X. When I got home and started to trouble shoot the Hornet, it would run fine - all over town. Go anywhere with it. Until the next meet. Go figure.
