Antenna hole Template

OK, I just checked a 54 hulk out in the woods. The hole is 1 1/4 diameter, with the centerline 2 inches from the edge of the roof sheetmetal where it bends to make the windshield hole, and of course centered crosswise. NOW, if you have a split windshield stepdown, it's more like 2 1/8, the closest I can measure the 52 Hornet where the bend would be if it didn't meet the center post.
However, it needs to line up with the inside hole which if you poke your finger around in front of the dome light, you should feel. You'll have to cut a hole in the headliner here anyway, and I guess I'd drill a pilot hole from the inside, using a couple of wrench-sockets or something for a bushing, then you know you're lined up.
What d'ya think about that?0
