A little Help please
Remember me the 17 year old "Hudson crazy" girl?
I need help with two things...
First My web site (yes, it needs some work and stuff like "Hudson curse" is there because a lots of kids go on the web site! trust me I know.)
I like the way it is I just need help with the "All about Hudson hornets" page
http://www.hudsonhornethome.com/allabouthudsonhornets.htm
Like I need more info and stuff.
and I would like some ideas on how to convince my parents to buy me a Hudson. There saying no because we already have two collectors cars (a Ford and Porsche) and there already a lot of trouble.
Thanks Jess
P. S
I was on a ski trip (in west Virginia) and meet a person on the ski lift that is a member on here.

Jess, your new website is lookin' good! We're lucky to have such a talented and enthusiastic young lady devoting her time to Hudsons!
A couple minor things: the term Twin H-Power doesn't, I believe, refer to 'horsepower' -- I think it was just an advertising thing (with the "H" standing for 'Hudson' ) -- but someone will probably set me straight here. You might mention that Twin H-Power meant two carburetors, though. And the "Step-Down chassis' was in reality an early unit-body. Before Hudson, hardly anyone in America made a car whose body didn't sit on a separate frame. Hudson actually had the frame built into the body (practically every car has had this system for years, nowadays!). And, the fact that the car sat so low to the ground, made for much better handling on the race track. It wasn't as high, and tippy, as the competition. That's a lot of words, but I'll bet you could say it simpler!
One other thing: you mention that junkyard Hudsons can be chancy to buy, but the BIG thing that people should watch out for, is the condition of the car's frame, back around the rear wheels. If this rusts away, it will be very expensive to fix. So, first thing to look for in a 'Step-Down" Hudson -- one built from 1948 through 1954 -- is the condition of the frame!0 -

LOL - convince the parents to buy you a Hudson!
I had to buy my own car and pay for my own gas and insurance when I was your age ~ and no I didn't go to a 1 room schoolhouse or walk 20 miles in the snow without shoes to get there
Here are some constructive ideas on how to get your parents to "help" you buy a Hudson.- Take some autoshop/autobody classes so you can learn to do the basic required work to keep the car running. Showing this interest in learning about the mechanics would show them you're serious about owning one.
- Save up some money and chip in as much as possible and/or offer to pay your own insurance and gas - showing financial responsibility is a great incentive to parents to help more!
- Get something less expensive, more mainstream for your first car - something you can fix up a little here and there and work towards getting the "dream" Hudson ~ very few of us got our dream car when we were that age ~ you might even have to go through a couple of cars before you get there.

Hi, Like your site, very, very nice. Don't over look the Pacemakers and Wasp's, both make very nice drivers also. A minor note, check your spelling, (Buy is b-u-y, not bey). I was always told that "Twin-H-Power meant twin single barrel carbs. If you would like a nice rust-free Hudson, check out Arizona, Idaho, Oregon, and California. And take the advice of the Restores on this page. I am! I'm currantly looking for my 10th Hudson, (not all at once) and found out that 54 Coupe that I was going to bid on, was in fact a rust bucket. Good Luck! Steve0

Thanks guys! for all the help!
I think if my parents can get all the cars (including the tractor) working properly they will look into it
and I'll try to fix the web site as soon as possible sorry about the misspellings I had a really messed up computer at the time I last edited to page.
If any one know a good place that works on Porsches that would help a lot (I live in Lexington South Carolina) because that is the car was manly having problems with..and If we can get that fixed I'll have more of a chance getting a Hudson.......
here's the sad looking 944 if you wanted to see it......
and when I do get a Hudson should I go ahead and get one in really good condition........because my dad hates the idea of having to get a car worked on all the time.(we have had to before and it really got him mad)
thanks

If you are interested, my buddy here in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada has a 1953 Hudson Wasp 2-door Broughm, three speed standard with over-drive and a 262 ci engine. Also the car has been converted to 12-volts. He has driven this car from Hamilton to Vancouver, B.C. across Canada to Halifax, Nova Scotia and back to Hamilton in 2000. He just recently told me the car might be for sale in the fall because his children are not interested in the car. I'm not sure if he will change his mind, but if interested I will let him know. And the car can probably be driven to South Carolina.:)0

Cool
if it is for sale do you know how much it would be. 0 -
