Any idea on the story of picture #100_0304.JPG? One of our old cars happened to make it to Australia. It sits up in the front end like there was Hornet coils under it.0

This 47 Commodore Eight belongs to Alan Walker. He purchased the car from an Auction on The Goldcoast QLD over 10 years ago.
The car was imported during the 80's fitted with AMC rear end powered by a 308 twin H power. Since then the original rear was put back in along with the Straight Eight. I guess your right, it may still have the incorrect front end....Huddy42 can help here....Les P knows the car since it arrived here from the states.0 -
Wow! what a wonderful group of Hudsons. Am very impressed with the quailty of the restorations. Your members bring out the great older cars, and I enjoy that.
29 Vic0 -
To 29 Vic, yes there were some great resto cars at the meet. Three of which comes to mind is a 1919 Essex 4 Speedster, 1919 Hudson Bobtail (note that I did say Bobtail not Boatail), and a 1963 Rambler Classic sedan. All of these three a fresh restos. There were other fresh restos that attended, but my pick of all the cars on the meet was that 1919 Hudson Bobtail. It is indeed a very rare car. It was an unfinished project when purchased by the current owner. The front gaurds alone to make was somewhere around $13,000 Australian the pair.0

is there a way to access the photo of the '35 H8 conv. so I could post it to the Hudson 8 website at Yahoo?0

Send me your email address through a private message, please put HET in front of your address to protect your identity from the unknown. I will send you that picture. The red 35 h8 is an US bodied car I believe, as the Aussie built versions had a drop down windscreen.0

I thought the best looking car at Toowoomba was a red 1937 Terraplane. The wife and I drove it 2000kms to get there. Did it in 2 1/2 days as I kept finding jobs to do before we could leave. The best cruising speed I could do was 40 to 45MPH with the conventional tyres on a good road. Had a few problems along the way. The battery water needed a lot of topping up, a 25A fuse on the ignition/charging circuit kept blowing, and the points were badly overheating. I found the third brush on the genny had been adjusted to give 7.5V & 30A at a low RPM. The poor fuse didnt stand a chance. This is something for all owners to be aware/careful of. Regards to all, Barry0
