Hi all, the pickup made its first car show today, thanks again Bill. Our city has a Harvest Howdown and Car Show each year. I was the only Hudson, big suprise, and there was one Desoto. Here are some pics from the show.

Glad you could get out and show the crowd that there are more than Fords and Chevies out there! Maybe you can get one or two of your local Hudson pals to bring their cars to the next show....wouldn't THAT blow some minds, LOL!
  • Great Lance, saw your truck over at Bill's the other day when I stopped by, it's a beauty!
  • Lance; great truck, where was the Harvest Hoedown? I guess I need to get by Bill's more often to see what he is working on there.

After all the hard work, time and money it takes to get these Hudsons restored. It took me 26 years to finish mine. It is a great feeling to be able to take it out and show it for the first time.

Your truck looks great. Good luck with it. I'm sure your truck will get alot of attention and a few tropheys as well. Old car people know how rare our Hudsons are and they do get alot of positive comments at car shows.

    Rick,

These are the things that were done; replace the contact inside the distributor for the coil to the rotor, the carbon was warn down; re-torque the head bolts; install a heat riser on the choke; adjust idle and mixture; remove return line from carb; reset timing; clean plugs. And I had a couple other things done while I was there.

    Very Very nice.

Ah!. Reminds me of the the orange juice stands (shaped like oranges-and roughly that color orange) that used to be scattered along Highway 101 and (I think) Route 66 in California.

    Those were the days.

Good job, nice lookin truck. You'll have fun with it.

But, boys, don't wait till you get em all done to get em out. My ratty everyday driver gets so much attention at the shows I can't get to see the other cars. Start that Super Six up for em. They love that, when they start on the first turn.
  • Yep, those stands were on route 66. We used to stop at Hadleys in Cabazon for the all you can drink for a dime lemonade. Coming across the desert in the back of a pick-up truck that was always a welcome relief. The orange juice stands weren't all you could drink but it was still good juice. I noticed that they are putting the bells back up on 101. The drive wasn't quite the same with them gone.

I agree with you Uncle Josh, my interior is not done and there is no bed, but I still got lots of positive comments.
