Unfortunately, I can't offer advice, but you might phone Dave Kostansek to see if he offers any seals for those, or even an entire rebuilt unit. I'm not sure whether you're in the Club and know about him, but in case you aren't, go to Dave Sollon's webpage and click SUPPLIERS. http://home.earthlink.net/~dsollon/public.htm/0

Take the pump to a good machine shop and have them make a new shaft. The shaft wears out and a new packing will not stop it from leaking. Shaft has to made from stainless steel. It will also need new bronze bushings.my water pump on my 31 hudson is seeping or dripping i should say how do i repack it or repair it? any advice?

Your old shaft is 1/2". Model A ford is 9/16. Have your old bushings and pully opened to 9/16 and use a NEW PACKING NUT WITH A VITION SEAL for a Model A and have a new 9/16" shaft made. Avaliable at any Model A parts supplier. If more imfo. needed Email me at tombia@lisco.com.0
