Just a short 1 1/2 hour trip for me. Can't wait to go through the flea market. Make time to go to the Air Force museum.0

Same for me Scott!:D I always like going to a Hudson meet. I'm sorry I missed Doc's meet this year. My parents went, said they had a good time even though the weather wasn't very cooperative. I have been thru Dayton many, many times and I have never been to the W/P-AF museum, and I am looking forward to that.:cool:0

All who expect to go to the AF museum. PLEASE>>>>>>>>> make time there as so many exibits and so much to see. Honestly one could take months doing this place. For those who are COLD WAR era folks... there is a section dedicated to the aircraft of the time. All will find some part that is especially interesting... all of it is to me! Again enjoy the museum it is without a doubt one of the best you will get to see.0

I agree - plan on at least one day for the AF museum. I've been there - but had time constraints, so only had about 3, 4 hours. It's inspiring.
One thing that stands out in my mind - I was wandering thru one of the hanger exhibits and got the feeling there was something above me. I looked up - all I saw was aluminum (or titanium) whatever they built it out of. It was a B-70 Valkyrie - Lord that thing is HUGE!!! Takes up over 1/2 the hanger as a suspended exhibit.

I was raised in Dayton, and took many field trips with the school, to the Museum. Haven't been there in 30 years though. When I was a kid, they had a bomber called the "Strawberry *****", We all thought that was scandalous and was the greatest thing ever.
Later I worked at a wholesale warehouse and made many deliveries to the museum. Also, the first apartment Judy and I had after we got married was in Fairborn about 1/4 mile from the SAC base gate.
B-52s used to take off and would shake pictures off the walls. Guess that's why the rent was so cheap........LOL!

I can't remember when the current museum building was built but the old building was in downtown Fairborn. The current building(s) is accessed from Springfield Street near Harshman Road, west of Fairborn.0 -
This will regional will be a fun time.
It awsome to see Clark Gable's, and Jimmy Stewart's flight jackets at the museum. Go early and get a reservation to see the Presidential plane hanger!
Quakersteak is a neat place for the cruise in.

I'm going to Dayton on business. I might be able to go early enough to go to meet. Where and when is it?
Thanks
