Another find

Just wanted to post my new find on the forum. A 53 superwasp. Everything is there except the air cleaners. Which I already have. I paid $1000 and he drove it to my house! Story has it that it was his dads car. He said it was around for as long as he could remember. When his dad died it sat in his garage until he got tired walking around it and pulled it outside. 2 weeks later I came along. The paint is starting to flake but the body is solid. The skirts look like they might need a little work but I can't complain. All in all I think I got a good deal. They sure knew how to build cars back then.

Nice Coupe...:D

but unless there has been some swaping around of grills and sheet metal the car is a 52. The hood ornament is not in place ... so I do not know for sure... the vertical bars in the grill are not present in 53 vintage WASPS

Yours is a body style not seen very often in a Wasp of that year!

Great buy, Congrats.... if you get a look at the serial plate first two numbers that would tell you for sure but it does look like a '52 Wasp Coupe... not a common model.

On the serial number plate: If it's a 52 should have a "5B" stamped over the serial number; "4C" (Wasp Deluxe) or "5C" (Wasp Super) if it's a 53.



As the lads say - the grille is '52. The /\ strut on 53's had no chrome, just the bars in back.
