I want to find a 8 Day clock with the Essex super six logo on the face similar to the waltham clock with the Hudson logo, can you help? :)

I have never seen nor heard of an Essex clock being available. I did obtain a Hudson clock last year, and it has turned out to be one of the most expensive accessories I have ever got working. It needed extensive overhauling and rebuilding, as it wouldn;t wind or turn the hands, as the mechanism inside was worn out, cogs worn, and generally in poor shape, so do be careful if you bid on one that it is working order. don;t get caught out like I did.

  • Thanks for the advice, I purchased one also not working and I havnt taken it in for a overhaul because I suspect it will not be worth it! A few (8) yrs ago I came across a clock face on e-bay with the Essex super six logo it was very attractive, however it was only a face so i passed on it. So now I can only hope to find one someday again. Out of interest it had a black and white logo, numbers around the perimiter (black), a place for a second hand above where the 6 would be and a very ornate paisly? design for a background. the background was polished brass and this brushed paisly design. Thanks Darian

The correct factory authorized clock for a 28 and 29 E is smaller than the 8 day waltham. It is shaped like the essex emblem and has no Essex marking in it.
  • Ya thats what I understand is correct for a Hudson around 1929 but the one I saw for the essex was quite diffrent. take a look!!! if this is viewable It is probably possible this is not for a 1929 era Essex as Lewis Mendenhall has stated.
